Casanare è un paradiso faunistico, che vanta una straordinaria varietà di specie nelle sue vaste savane, zone umide e foreste. "Llaneros" è il nome dato agli abitanti di questa regione. Sono i cowboy colombiani, le cui principali attività economiche sono l'allevamento del bestiame e alcune attività agricole minori.

I Llaneros sono abili cavalieri, esperti nel radunare e radunare il bestiame negli hatos e nei pascoli aperti. Indossano un caratteristico cappello inamidato, sembrano insensibili al caldo o al freddo e spesso camminano scalzi. DAY 1 Arrivo a Yopal. Trasferimento a San Luis de Palenque. Safari naturalistico (4x4).

Arrivo a Yopal, capoluogo del Dipartimento di Casanare, in Colombia. Casanare ospita diversi hatos (fattorie) e riserve naturali che mettono in mostra la bellezza naturale e la biodiversità della regione. Questa regione della Colombia vi permetterà di scoprire gli ecosistemi e la fauna selvatica unici delle pianure orientali, note come Llanos Orientales.

All'arrivo a Yopal, inizieremo il viaggio verso San Luis de Palenque, che durerà circa 2 ore su strade asfaltate. Trascorreremo i due giorni successivi a Hato Matepalma e Hato Altamira, due grandi haciendas dichiarate riserve naturali. In queste riserve naturali, avrete la possibilità di avvistare centinaia di capibara, cervi dalla coda bianca, caimani dagli occhiali, tartarughe e un'interessante avifauna, tra cui le oche dell'Orinoco e il gufo della Virginia, il gufo più grande della Colombia.

All'arrivo alla riserva naturale, pranzeremo e ci rilasseremo per un po'. Poi, faremo un safari in un veicolo 4x4 per avvicinarci a una sorprendente quantità di fauna selvatica; con un po' di fortuna, potremmo vedere un formichiere, un puma, un'anaconda (soprattutto durante la stagione secca tra febbraio e marzo), armadilli e centinaia di capibara, cervi, caimani dagli occhiali, tartarughe e un'interessante avifauna. Potremo anche assistere allo spettacolare tramonto prima di proseguire la nostra spedizione per osservare la fauna notturna.

Nota: i voli nazionali non sono inclusi, ma quando si prenota il volo nazionale, si prega di prenotare un volo anticipato per arrivare a Yopal prima delle 10:00.

DAY 2 Safari naturalistico (equitazione)

Oggi andremo a cavallo al mattino e al pomeriggio. Riceveremo un'introduzione alla fattoria e faremo pratica con il lazo prima di preparare i nostri cavalli per una cavalcata nella savana. A cavallo, attraverseremo piccoli fiumi, pozze d'acqua, lussureggianti savane e foreste di palme e gallerie, tenendo gli occhi aperti per avvistare la variegata avifauna e la fauna selvatica, tra cui diverse specie di formichieri e scimmie. Torneremo alla fattoria per pranzo e relax, prima di tornare a cavallo nel pomeriggio.

DAY 3 Safari naturalistico (canoa ed escursionismo)

Al mattino presto, faremo una passeggiata e un giro in canoa per osservare famiglie di capibara, hoazin e diverse specie di martin pescatori. Torneremo alla fattoria per il pranzo e un po' di relax, prima di riprendere l'escursione nel pomeriggio.

DAY 4 Ultimo giorno dell'avventura. Trasferimento in aeroporto

Oggi è l'ultimo giorno di avventure a Casanare. All'orario concordato, torneremo all'aeroporto di Yopal per il volo verso la vostra prossima destinazione.

Nota: il tragitto dall'aeroporto all'aeroporto dura circa 2 ore. Pertanto, se prenotate un volo nazionale da Yopal, vi preghiamo di farlo dopo le 15:00.

Hato Montana si trova nella parte più profonda della riserva naturale, circondato da ruscelli e boschi che ospitano numerosi animali selvatici. Blown Away

I'll write 2 reviews. First the quick one; every detail was taken care of, the destinations are world class, communication was excellent. I would give them 6 out of 5 if I could.

The guide UC booked for us was exceptional. He knew his stuff, was very good with e-bird, he was an intersting guy and an overall good bean. Our tour actually started in Barranquilla - we were met at the airport, taken to the finest hotel in town. The next day we were taken on a city tour. I didn't know much about the city so I was very pleasantly by how much I liked it. The carnival museum is fabulous, we really enjoyed the boardwalk around a lagoon.

Tour of Medellin and local villages.

Sol, our tour guide, was amazing. We did a three day tour of Medellin and local villages nearby. Sol shared her vast knowledge of the political and social recent history of the region. She led the tour at our pace. She was lovely to be with. The driver was very cautious. It was a great experience.

Great to work with!

Uncover Colombia was fantastic to work with! We had a 12 day itinerary and everything went very well. Great tour of Salt Cathedral

Myself and my wife did a private tour with Juan Carlos to the Salt Cathedral. The tour and Juan Carlos were both great. He had an intimate knowledge of the Salt Cathedral having worked there previously, and also knew a lot about the nearby town and local area.
