Nidia started Uncover Colombia after feeling the tug to promote her native country through a positive perspective. What better way to do that than showing visitors the beauty and diversity of her homeland?

She was well-aware Colombia didn’t have the best reputation and she wanted to change that. So in 2012, with the help of her Colombian husband and close group of friends, she laid the foundation to build a Colombian tour operator that offers unique adventures, safe experiences and utilises local knowledge on each and every tour. 

When she first created Uncover Colombia, not many tour operators existed in Colombia. By starting before the tourism bump Colombia is currently seeing, Nidia and her friends were able to make connections with locals and develop unique Colombian holidays before the big tour companies jumped on the bandwagon.  

A former engineer, Nidia spends her work days organising tours through Colombia, helping customers prepare for their holiday to Colombia and so much more. She’s always finding ways to improve existing tours and develop new ones so guests will leave Colombia with fond memories and an eagerness to return. 

Paola is passionate about travelling to explore new places and cultures. Her love for learning other languages led her to pursue an MBA in Taiwan, where she seized every opportunity to explore Asia, visiting countries like Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and Korea. After finishing her studies, Paola returned to Colombia and joined the Uncover Colombian team to continue working in Tourism and promoting her country.

With over four years of experience in tourism and hospitality and all the new ideas and knowledge acquired during her MBA, Paola is excited to bring her global insights and experience to help visitors discover the beauty of Colombia! 

Helena has extensive experience in hotels and the travel industry in Colombia and abroad. She studied tourism management in Colombia and worked for five years in various hotels, coordinating events and group tours. Then, she moved to Chile, Spain, and finally to the UK, where she worked with different international hotel chains.

Helena joined the team as a Travel Designer to help travellers create the perfect itinerary to explore Colombia. She is passionate about promoting tourism in Colombia and believes in travelling with a purpose, supporting and respecting local communities, and truly appreciating each place we visit. Her role at Uncover Colombia is a dream come true because she can help people discover the incredible beauty of her homeland!

Daniel has been working in the tourism industry since 2004, when he began collaborating with hotels, parks, and tour companies. He also teaches tourism at a university level in Bogotá and works as a tourism advisor to local communities. He initially joined Uncover Colombia as an operations manager but recently moved to the sales area to work as a travel designer. 

Like the rest of the team, Daniel wants to reveal all the great cultural activities and landmarks in Colombia and improve his native country’s reputation in the eyes of the world. He loves travelling and interacting with travellers to learn about their culture.

Ana Milena studied Tourism and Hotel Management in Colombia and is passionate about creating memorable experiences for travellers. Her main focus is offering exceptional service while positively contributing to the communities. Ana Milena loves travelling and always explores different regions of Colombia to develop new experiences with local communities.  

She organises all the components of an Uncover Colombia tour, from booking accommodations to arranging transportation and matching the right guides to specific travel groups. She’s the one who makes sure your hotel room has that king bed you requested and a day tour has the activities you like. Ana Milena enjoys witnessing visitors fall in love with Colombia after a tour!

Daniela has more than five years of experience in the tourism industry. Her passion for wildlife and nature drives her to continuously explore new nature reserves or places to hike and learn about the local fauna and birding. Her commitment to sustainable tourism helps her establish solid relationships with local communities, where she can contribute to the construction of responsible practices that improve the destinations we visit.

From her role as Operations Coordinator, Daniela always ensures every single aspect of one of our tours is well planned and delivered as our travellers expect. For her, it is really important to understand the needs and expectations of each traveller so she can find the right vehicle, tour guide or food requested for each person.  The big smiles on travellers’ faces and their eagerness to tell friends back home about their wonderful experiences in Colombia is what makes her job worthwhile.  

From a young age, Leslie has been passionate about travelling and always said that one day she would take a backpack to travel to South America and never come back. But for now she’s in charge of getting you to Colombia!

As the Online Marketing Manager, she uses multiple digital channels to spread the word about Uncover Colombia tours and why Colombia should be your next vacation destination.

She is from a small town in France, but she moved away as soon as she could to start exploring new horizons. She came to London after finishing her Master in marketing and was supposed to stay here only six months to learn English, but she quickly fell in love with the city and never moved back.

In her role as Online Marketing Manager, Leslie develops and executes Marketing strategies, coordinates with freelance bloggers, runs marketing campaigns and more. What she prefers about her job is sharing her passion for travel and her love of Colombia with people.

Carlos is a proud ambassador of his beloved Colombia and loves working as tour guide. For him, guiding a tour is a two-way cultural exchange as visitors learn from Colombia at the same time he learns from their home country.

Originally from the Antioquia Department of Colombia, Carlos joined the Uncover Colombia team more than 4 years ago after becoming a professional tour guide. During a tour with him, you will learn not only all the historical aspects of the places visited but also the culture and local traditions. He will also take you to his favourite spots and tell you interesting stories that only locals know.

Gloria has been working with Uncover Colombia since 2012 when the company was created. Her work supports the daily operation of the company by making sure all the administrative activities and payments happen on time to guarantee the efficient operation of our tours.
