Departure Time: 8 am
We will begin the day with a visit to one of Bogota’s most iconic landmarks: Monserrate Hill. This legendary site offers a meaningful and unforgettable experience, not only for its cultural and spiritual significance but also for the stunning panoramic views of Bogotá that we will enjoy from the top of the hill.
Afterward, we will travel to the charming and picturesque town of Choachí, located about 90 minutes from Bogotá, where we will immerse ourselves in an authentic coffee experience. We’ll start with a traditional Colombian lunch at the farm before gearing up like real coffee pickers, wearing a poncho (a traditional coat), a hat, and rubber boots if the weather requires it, before embarking on a hands-on tour of the coffee plantation. At the farm, we will learn about organic farming practices, the geography of coffee cultivation in the region and across the country, and how these sustainable methods contribute to high-quality coffee. You will even have the opportunity to plant your own coffee tree and discover how natural fertilizers nourish and protect the crops.
Through a series of interactive and sensory stations, we will explore the fascinating world of coffee, captivating aromas, rich textures, and complex flavours that each tell a unique story. Every step, from seed to cup, is thoughtfully designed to showcase the richness of Colombia’s coffee ecosystem and its positive impact on both our health and the environment. The tour concludes with an educative talk about the various types of coffee available in the market and how to identify the highest quality beans. After this unforgettable experience, we return to Bogotá.
