Located at around 2,600 metres above sea level, Fute is immersed in a mystical Andean cloud forest and forms part of a privileged biological corridor. The reserve is also home to the colourful Grass-green Tanager, as well as the Chestnut-crowned Antpitta, Blackish Tapaculo, Rufous Spinetail, Gray-breasted Wood-Wren, Plain-coloured Seedeater, Chestnut-capped Brushfinch, and Black-crested Warbler.

Fute Nature Reserve offers a wonderful opportunity to experience birdwatching near Bogotá while escaping the city and immersing yourself in the peaceful landscapes of the Colombian Andes. Located approximately 1.5 hours from Bogotá, in the municipality of Bojacá, this private nature reserve protects an Andean forest ecosystem rich in native birdlife and scenic natural surroundings.

Our day begins early, with a 5:00 a.m. departure from your hotel, when bird activity is at its peak. Upon arrival, the vehicle will take us to a nearby access point, followed by a short uphill walk of approximately 200 meters to reach the reserve.

Once inside, we will explore accessible forest trails at a relaxed pace, looking for hummingbirds and other native bird species while enjoying the sounds and landscapes of the Andean forest. The reserve is particularly appealing for travelers interested in bird photography, nature, and Colombia's remarkable biodiversity, offering opportunities to observe birds in their natural habitat away from the crowds.
