This fertile region, also called the Coffee Triangle, consists of three Colombian departments: Caldas, Risaralda and Quindio. It is located in the heart of the Andes where the majority of the famous Colombian coffee is produced. The coffee region’s landscape was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to its astonishing landscaped adorned by mountains, coffee plantations and valleys.

DAY 1 Travel to Colombia's Coffee Region. Coffee Plantation Tour

Fly to one of the main cities in Colombia’s coffee region, either Pereira or Armenia. Upon arrival, your guide will be waiting for you at the airport and will take you to your hotel, where you’ll have time to enjoy lunch before beginning your coffee experience in the afternoon.

During this immersive experience, you will discover the journey of coffee from seed to cup in a natural and inspiring way. You’ll begin by awakening your senses, learning to recognize the aromas and flavors that define a truly high-quality coffee, just like an expert taster.

As you walk through the plantation, you’ll follow the path of the coffee bean, understanding how it grows, how it is carefully harvested, and what makes each stage so important to its final quality. You’ll also explore the transformation process, seeing how the coffee is pulped, washed, dried, and selected before it reaches your cup.

Along the way, you’ll enjoy hands-on moments such as creating your own basket, making the experience even more personal and memorable.

The journey comes together with a tasting session, where the bold, aromatic flavors of Colombian coffee truly come to life. DAY 2 Day trip to Valle de Cocora and Salento town

Today, you will explore the stunning Cocora Valley (Valle de Cocora) and the colorful town of Salento, two of the most iconic destinations in Colombia’s Coffee Region.

Your adventure begins with a scenic journey into Cocora Valley, where you’ll hop on a traditional Jeep Willys, a cultural symbol of the region, for a fun and authentic ride through lush green landscapes. Surrounded by misty mountains, you’ll discover one of Colombia’s most breathtaking natural wonders, home to the towering wax palms, the tallest palm trees in the world, and a national symbol of Colombia.

As you explore the valley, you’ll walk through beautiful cloud forest trails, cross wooden bridges, and take in the incredible biodiversity of this unique ecosystem. Along the way, you’ll learn about the natural and cultural importance of Cocora Valley, making it a truly enriching experience.

After your time in nature, you’ll visit Salento, a charming colonial town known for its vibrant colors, traditional architecture, and relaxed atmosphere. Stroll through its picturesque streets, browse local artisan shops, and enjoy the essence of Colombia’s coffee culture in one of its most beautiful settings.

At the end of the day, you’ll return to your hotel with unforgettable memories of Colombia’s landscapes, culture, and authentic experiences.

DAY 3 Visit a Cacao Farm. Transfer to the airport

In the morning, we will visit a local cacao farm to learn about the entire process, from planting and nurturing cacao trees to harvesting the ripe pods. You’ll learn about the delicate art of fermentation and drying, which is crucial to developing the bean's complex flavours.

During this experience, you will participate in a hands-on demonstration of how cacao is transformed into chocolate. You can taste fresh cacao pulp straight from the pod, experience the grinding of beans into a paste, and sample artisanal chocolate made on-site. This immersive experience will connect you to the rich agricultural heritage of Colombia’s Coffee Region, where both coffee and cacao flourish.

At the end of this visit, we will transfer you to the airport in Pereira or Armenia.

Hacienda Combia

Set in a colourful historic farmhouse from 1887, Hacienda Combia offers a serene retreat in the middle of the spectacular coffee region’s landscapes. This charming hacienda offers cosy rooms, warm hospitality, and an immersive coffee culture experience. It also has free Wi-Fi and panoramic views of the landscape from the outdoor pool.

It is situated just outside of Calarcá. Guests can relax in the sauna and hydro massage tub, or lounge at the sun terrace on the large deck chairs.
