In the morning, we will head towards Neusa Reservoir, a tranquil natural haven located just an hour from Zipaquirá. Upon our arrival, we will start by visiting a local organic garden and farm, where you will learn about the cultivation of traditional Colombian ingredients and their significance in local cuisine.
Next, we will participate in a Colombian-style cooking class led by a local chef. You will discover how to marinate and cook meat using time-honored regional methods and fresh, locally sourced ingredients. A highlight of this experience will be preparing "Lomo al Trapo," which translates to "beef tenderloin in a towel." This rustic and flavorful Colombian dish involves wrapping a tenderloin in a thick salt crust and cloth, then cooking it over open flames. The class will conclude with a delicious open-air lunch overlooking the stunning landscape of the reservoir.
After lunch, we will embark on a hike through the serene surroundings, guided by a local expert. The trail offers breathtaking views of the forest and lake, providing a moment of connection with nature and an opportunity to unwind.
We will then continue our journey to the renowned Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, an extraordinary underground church that is entirely carved from salt. Beyond its architectural and spiritual significance, the cathedral also features a unique wellness experience: a salt spa located within the mine, where visitors can relax and benefit from the natural properties of the salt-rich environment. After this immersive cultural and wellness experience, we will return to Bogotá.
