Colombia does not have traditional seasons like summer or winter. Instead, the country experiences dry and rainy periods, which vary slightly by region.

In general, the rainier months are: April–May and October–November. Even during these periods, travel is still very enjoyable, the landscapes are greener, rivers are fuller, and nature is at its most vibrant. That said, depending on your itinerary, we may recommend adjusting certain regions, such as the Caribbean coast, during heavier rain periods.

However, some natural experiences are seasonal and can be planned accordingly, such as whale watching on the Pacific coast (July to October, with peak months between August and September) or visiting Caño Cristales (rainbow river), which is typically accessible from June to November and at its most colorful between July and October.

To conclude, because Colombia offers such diverse climates year-round, there is truly no single “bad” time to visit,only different experiences depending on the season.
